An experienced operations manager, entrepreneur and project manager, Allen Shirley has more than 25 years experience in the construction industry. He has been at the helm of both field operations and project management. His key role in these situations made him responsible for performing all aspects of the projects, from due diligence investigations required on the front end, through the punch-out at project completion. Allen brings much to the table in the way of experience and expertise. In the years since he majored in Architectural Engineering and Business Administration at the University of Texas, at Austin, Texas, he has had a variety of valuable business experiences, including the following: Owner of a construction company Construction Manager for a design build firm Senior Project Manager for a general contractor Operations Manager for a multi-state general contractor Mediator for construction disputes Construction Management opportunities have taken Allen to several overseas locations, including the Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Cuba and the Bahamas. He has also worked as a consultant in other Caribbean Islands and in Central American countries. Allen’s most recent work in the Bahamas required him to spearhead the project by managing the work of the architect, engineers, the vendors and the subcontractors. Furthermore, he had to represent the interests of his company to the Bahamian Government and the Port Authority of Grand Bahamas. Purchasing, expediting and designing were key functions on these projects. Currently, Allen serves as Senior Project Manager for Nicoya Bay Villas, a major mixed use development on Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula. |
