From 1988 to 1998 Roger worked in a management capacity for two large general contractors, M.W. Builders and Walton Construction, both headquartered in Kansas City.  During his tenure with M.W. Builders, Roger was instrumental in creating and expanding the Fairfield Inn product for Marriott.  He also developed a system to panelize one of the first Marriott Residence Inn hotels.  The first wood frame Marriott Courtyard hotel was a Design / Build project that Roger negotiated with Marriott in an effort to provide a more cost effective product.  Roger’s last project with M.W. Builders was management of the Disney Vacation Club Resort construction in Orlando, Florida.

In 1994, Walton Construction recruited Roger as an Executive Vice President to open and build an Atlanta division for the company.  Roger subsequently added a Walton Phoenix, Arizona branch office to facilitate a West Coast presence.  During the last three years of his affiliation with Walton Construction Roger served on their executive board and was a partner in their development of two hotels in Arizona.

Roger was then recruited as President of Petersen Metal Products, a             manufacturing facility in Odessa, Florida.  Petersen’s primary market was custom designed aluminum specialties for the construction industry.

In 1999, Roger founded de Oplossing, Inc. and initially acted as President and Managing Director of GBI Construction Company for Bufete Industrial.  Working closely with St. Paul Surety, Roger’s responsibilities included the completion of eight educational projects valued at $84 million, and the subsequent preparation and resolution of subcontractor and owner claims related to those projects.

Recent de Oplossing projects have included hospitality, educational, residential, office, mixed-use, municipal, state and public works construction in several states and a tropical residential complex on the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica. His wealth of experience has proved invaluable in his leadership and contributions to the Consulting and Claims Divisions of de Oplossing, Inc.

Married to Pamela since 1984, Roger has 2 children, one at home, and two   grandchildren. He is an active member of, and served on the Board of Trustees for Mount Bethel United Methodist Church in Marietta. Roger also serves on the Boards of Directors for The Friends of the Strand, the Cobb Symphony Orchestra and The Downtown Marietta Development Authority.
